Detroit Revitalization Fellows (DRF) seeks out talented mid-career professionals to join the city’s efforts to energize civic, economic and community development. This leadership development program, supported by Wayne State University’s Office of Economic Development, targets accomplished professionals with experience and education already under their belts. With the support of many funders, including Ford Foundation, Kresge Foundation, and Knight Foundation, Detroit Revitalization Fellows respects local context, seeks out meaningful jobs for fellows, and offers a support structure for professional development of each fellow.
The fellowship experience in Detroit has also had a secondary impact as it highlights the importance of professional opportunities, development and retention of urban professionals citywide. Fellows are hosted by a range of organizations, using a diverse and multidisciplinary approach to addressing community and economic development in Detroit.
