“We have a choice as a city of how to rebuild ourselves intentionally.”
Guy O. Williams (employer, Detroit Revitalization Fellows, 2014) is the president and CEO of Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice and the Principal & Founder of G.O. Williams & Associates, L.L.C., strategic advisors for sustainable community and environmentally related programs. Williams has been a leading force for the Detroit Environmental Agenda, which calls on Detroit to reform its city waste management policy and encourages the development of businesses that work with recovered materials.
Through Detroit Revitalization Fellows, Williams was able to “hire” an existing employee, Sandra Yu Stahl, to serve as Senor Manager for Strategic Initiatives, helping her “grow in her skill and confidence and reputation—all of which are good for us,” he says. See a short film of Sandra discussing her work with DWEJ here.
